Racism, Reverends, and Golf

With all the race baiting, bantering from Reverend Wright, and Barack Obama's statements about his white grandma, everyone seems to have forgotten the plight of Kelly Tilghman. If you don't remember her, she was the Golf Channel commentator who made an off hand remark about Tiger Wood's opponents wanting to lynch him because he is so good.

There was a literal maelstrom of controversy from none other than Rev. Al "Not So" Sharpton. It resulted in Tilghman's public scolding and a two week suspension from work. Tilghman was guilty of nothing more than being glib. There was no racism in her words or intent. Yet she was crucified in the court of public opinion and for what?

Wright and Obama are guilty of the very same thing that Tilghman was accused of. There is video and audio proof of their statements, contradictions, and lies. Tilghman made a simple remark about Tiger Woods and his abilities. Because of what some might call a poor choice of words she is damn near destroyed. But Obama is still vying for the Presidency and Wright's congregation will probably grow.

Another interesting fact is that Tiger Woods refers to himself as a Cablinasian. A word he invented to represent his racial background of Caucasian, Black and Asian. Better be careful not to make any jokes about chopsticks or people who use them. Tiger may just go upside your head with a 9 iron.

In all seriousness, this sham is just another example of the hypocrisy and free ride afforded to people like Obama and Wright. We have to walk on egg shells and get "lynched" for using verbiage that means nothing racially. They, on the other hand, can speak what they see as the truth and no discourse is even allowed. The shallowness of this situation is just another example of the problems that this country is experiencing. It will not be Iraq or the economy which will undo this country; it will be stupidity like this.

Conservative Right Moving Towards McCain?

If you have read any of my past posts you can easily deduce I am no fan of Senator McCain's form of conservatism. He has his moments where I like him, but they are precisely that, moments. With that in mind I personally decided to throw my support to the largely RINO candidate. This decision is not because I have found some common ground with the Senator or I am now suddenly a member of that prestigious club that cannot make up it's mind which political philosophy to follow. It is because the Progressives are progressing me into a state of contempt for them. I would rather shave a wild cat's ass in a phone booth than have either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton as my President.

That is a pretty harsh statement and leaves no doubt where I stand. But my personal beliefs are not the subject of this post, the rest of the true Conservatives are. More importantly, who they are going to vote for and why.

After this past month, much of what was known about
Democrats/Liberals/Progressives has come out on the national stage. They aren't very democratic, they sure as hell aren't liberal, in the classical sense, and they are no where near progressive. They have demonstrated their inability to lead, to make a critical decision, to control their people, blame others for their misfortune, say one thing while meaning something totally different, hurl insults instead of issues, talk about hope but offer no way to get there, and so on and so on. Now, looking at this through Conservative eyes I see nothing but political infants who are screaming they are adults. That is quite sobering and somewhat frightening.

I think most true Conservatives are starting to see that too. But where does that leave them? Stay home and not vote in protest of McCain's candidacy? No, because there is much more at stake here than the fate of one party. It is the fate of a nation, and not just a white nation or a black nation. It is the fate of the American nation. Now enters John McCain.

McCain, ironically is this nation's last hope for some form of conservatism with some common sense. I think that most Conservatives see this and are starting to warm up to McCain as the greatly lesser of three evils. We know what to expect from McCain, some good, mostly bad. But, it won't be the Jimmy Carter years meets Malcom X, either. Over the next few months there will hopefully be a swelling of Conservative support for Senator McCain. They are sick and tired of the bantering from the Left and a vote for McCain is a protest against the real problem, the Progressives.

A McCain victory might damage the Republican party, but I am an American first. I am willing to sacrifice the Republican Conservative movement for awhile to save the moral fabric of this country. After all, my political affiliations are secondary to my national heritage. The latter is something these people want to rob you and I of. Think about that if you said you are going to stay home in November in protest of the McCain candidacy, because I know I'm not. See you at the voting booth.

The Racist Reverend

Lately there has been alot of clamoring about one Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. If you are not familiar with the name he is the pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, and more notably the spiritual guru to Senator Barrack Hussein Obama.

Mr. Wright has caused quite an upheaval with his opinions about racism, America, and the black conundrum faced in this country.

At a sermon delivered at Howard University he was quoted as saying,

"We've got more black men in prison than there are in college," he began. "Racism is alive and well. [1]

Mr. Wright is accurate, we do have more black men in prison rather than college and racism is quite alive, well and growing. Problem is Wright wants to blame Whitey. Instead of incriminating the white culture for the systemic problems that are rampant in the poorer Black communities, he should be trying to educate his people about the real dangers they face or offering some solutions. Think how easy it is to remain in a position of power when you unify a people against a common, although illusory, enemy. Little reminiscent of Hitler and the Jews?

No black man will ever be considered for president, no matter how hard you run Jesse [Jackson] and no black woman can ever be considered for anything outside what she can give with her body." [1]

No black man will ever be considered for President? Isn't Obama being considered for President? Did I miss the memo that he is running for National Dog Catcher? Also, last time I checked Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice, was doing more than giving her body to the various leaders of nations around the world.

Mr. Wright thundered on: "America is still the No. 1 killer in the world. . . . [1]

Yup, we are the number one killer in the world, of the innocent. How many abortions have there been since 1973? Well, it is a whopping 48,589,993 [2] . Wonder why the good Rev. isn't speaking on their behalf? I guess stopping the evil of Whitey is much more important.

We bombed Cambodia, Iraq and Nicaragua, killing women and children while trying to get public opinion turned against Castro and Ghadhafi . . . We put [Nelson] Mandela in prison and supported apartheid the whole 27 years he was there. [1]

In this statement Wright goes on to show his ignorance of history and America's foreign policy. From Pol Pot's massacring of from 750,000 to 1.7 million people to Qaddafi's support of terrorism over a 25 year period and everything in between he
continuously blames America for the evil and genocidal activities of madmen and despots. This man is at bare minimum, disingenuous and irresponsible. More realistically he is a fine example of the fringe racist element that are seeking to undo the fabric of this country. Because of his position in the Obama camp he is now free to spout whatever dribble he sees fit with no fear of discourse or any sort of consequences. Even giving him or his message a forum is equivalent to giving David Duke his own nationally syndicated television show.

With all this and more, Senator Obama has done nothing to distance himself from this hatred filled racist. His only defense of Reverend Wright is stating that he is trying to be, "Provocative." Since when is racial prejudice and venomous hatred of America, provocative? If Senator Obama does not subscribe to any of this rhetoric then why participate in the Church at all? I wouldn't go to a KKK meeting just because I like the beautiful linens they wear or try to claim they are a misunderstood social club. I don't go because I don't believe in their message.

One might think or assume that the Senator and his family might share some or all of these core beliefs of the Reverend. Michelle Obama has already made comments about how she is ashamed her country. Where does this come from? This is a woman who has been given the opportunity to attend Princeton and then law school at Harvard. Who in 2006, with her husband, made almost 1,000,000 dollars. Most people would be proud and thankful to a country that would afford them that kind of opportunity. Her distaste for America's culture has to be coming form somewhere and one has to wonder if it is Wright. The next thing to consider is that if this is correct how much power does this man have in their household? To be able to corrupt or bring out this sort of an attitude in a woman that educated is remarkable. Is he the new "Rasputin?"

It seems that an African-American coming this close to the Presidency is indicative of the social changes which have occurred in this country over the past few years. The real shame is that the validity of that change is mired in prejudice of a different kind. Prejudice against being an American and what she stands for. The strange, or not so strange, part is that the problem comes from two communities where diversity and unity are supposed to be most appreciated. The Democratic party and a Church.
