From Gaffes to Lies, McCain versus Hillary

C.T.

Well, the Dems and Hillary are at it again. The irony of Hillary's "gaffe" is that the Left wanted to hang McCain for his "slip." A deeper look into both of them shows one is an outright lie and the other, not even a mistake.

This is an excerpt, from what Clinton is quoted as saying while speaking at George Washington University, on March 17th.

"I remember landing under sniper fire," she said. "There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base." Wow. Now there's a woman you want answering that red phone at 3am. [1]

As pointed out in this article this is no where near what happened. Here is the video, from CBS footage that shows a different situation.

Well, you really do not need to analyze this to see the problem. My question is, " How stupid do they think the American public is?" I have been in some very bad situations, at home and abroad, and those instances are burned into my memory. Now, is there some embellishment? Of course, but they are minor details, not the whole situation.

Here are the problems with Hillary's "gaffe." First, if she is not lying, she has the memory of a gold fish, about seven seconds. Do you want a goldfish as your President? Even though it is doubtful she will get the nomination. Secondly, if it is not lying or a bad memory, then it is insanity. Hillary Clinton must be prone to hallucinations and the only institution she should be serving in is an asylum. Obviously, I am being curt, this no gaffe, she lied. Plain and simple.

As for Senator McCain, there was not really a gaffe, as I and many others see it. His quote was as follows:

Asked about that statement, Mr. McCain said: “Well, it’s common knowledge and has been reported in the media that Al Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran. That’s well known. And it’s unfortunate.” [2]

The correction.

“I’m sorry,” Mr. McCain said, “the Iranians are training extremists, not Al Qaeda.” [2]

How is this a mis-step? Iran has been training fighters to go into Iraq for years now and some of them are more than likely members or Al-Qaeda. That is common sense and common knowledge. So, where is the problem? Would admitting a connection between a Shi'a country and mostly Sunni organization offend our gentle souled Muslim brothers and sister? Or would this put the United States in a better position to invade Iran because of these links? Not that we do not have enough evidence right now, but this would be the proverbial cherry on the top. Last time I checked Al Qaeda was training extremists, as well. I do not see any evidence here that McCain made a mis-step or a gaffe.

Comparing the two situations; McCain making a mistake depends on your point of view. Implying that he is inept is purely politically motivated and untrue. Hillary, on the other hand, outright lied and there is video evidence.

It is hilarious how the Democrats attempted to abate the Obama situation by sadly attempting to attack McCain about this extremely mild faux pas. If you even want to call it that. This week, Hillary plain out lies, then she says she was mistaken and all was forgiven by the MSM. But there is no biased. Wow!

Great article. Hillary Clinton is doing whatever she can to get her name into the news. If that includes her lies, then she'll do it. She will do ANYTHING to get what she wants!

I've been in situations also, but my observation is that she wasn't in any trouble at all.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks Daniels,

The woman is pathologically ambitious. The only day she is concerned about is inauguration day, after that the country could go to hell in a hand basket and I do not think she would care. Hillary just wants her name in the history books.
