Let's play an oldie but a goodie, it's called, "Which Demowit is the dumbest?" The way it works is we give you three relevant stories concerning each of the after-mentioned Dems, and you decide. Your options are: 1) Nancy Pelosi 2) William Jefferson 3) Al Franken.
1)Madame Screecher (The Hill.com)-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), in light of increasing pressure regarding the future of Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.), said she wants to wait for an ethics report on the Ways and Means Committee chairman. read more...
Rangel has a long laundry list of alleged ethics violations: failure to pay taxes on $75,000 in income from a vacation home in the Dominican Republic, his use of his congressional office to raise funds for the Rangel Center in New York City, and his control of four rent-stabilized apartments in a Harlem high-rise that he lives in. Does little Nancy qualify for stupid or political opportunist for woefully ignoring her dear cronies obvious ethics problems?
2) William Jefferson (Crews Most Corrupt)-On June 4, 2007, Rep. Jefferson was indicted on 16 criminal counts, including two counts of conspiracy to solicit bribes, two counts of solicitation of bribes by a public official, six counts of honest services fraud by wire, one count of violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, three counts of money laundering, one count of obstruction of justice and one count of racketeering. The indictment stems from multiple instances in which Rep. Jefferson agreed to perform official acts for 11 different companies in return for bribes payable to him and his family members. read more...
Jefferson, unfortunately for me, is actually my Representative. Hard for me to admit, but at least I didn't vote for him. If you recall also, he is the numb-nut who kept $90 thousand in his refrigerator, giving a whole new meaning to, "Cold hard cash."
3) Al Franken (The Hill.com)-Al Franken’s campaign is “disappointed” that as many as 12,000 absentee ballots will not be counted in Minnesota’s hotly contested Senate race but will not appeal the decision. In a conference call with reporters following the decision, Franken recount attorney Marc Elias said the campaign was “disappointed” in the decision. But he added: “We are not going to appeal.”Elias noted the board “has indicated they will consider this further next week” at another meeting and said the campaign “will no doubt have more to say” at that point. He also expressed confidence that, in the end, “these votes will be counted.” read more...
Instead of conceding defeat, Franken and his attorneys, have been hell bent on draggin' Minnesotans through the legal mud. This all in order to ensure a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. In Al Gore fashion, the talentless comedian and village idiot, has been crying about disenfranchised voters and trying to the get all the fish in the 10,000 lakes registered to vote. Of course, the fish are Democrats. Aren't these the same people who gave us hanging chads and "disenfranchisement" of Democratic voters in the primaries?
I personally have to go with the home team and cast my ballot for Jefferson. Feel free to leave your votes in commentary.
