North Korea "Lights the Fuse"

Okay I am guilty of a little plagiarism, Wiz Bang had the title, North Korea "lights the candle". I just thought "fuse" is more apropo considering the situation.

The North Koreans have pretty much told the rest of the world, "Go to hell."

CNN-North Korea launched a long-range rocket on Sunday in what U.S. and South Korean officials deemed a provocative act.

While the United States and South Korea confirmed the rocket launch, the payload of the rocket remains unclear. North Korea has said the rocket was to carry a satellite into space, but the United States, South Korea and other nations fear it could be a missile with a warhead attached.

"With this provocative act, North Korea has ignored its international obligations, rejected unequivocal calls for restraint, and further isolated itself from the community of nations," U.S. President Barack Obama said in a statement after the launch.

"We will immediately consult with our allies in the region, including Japan and (South Korea), and members of the U.N. Security Council to bring this matter before the Council," Obama added. "I urge North Korea to abide fully by the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council and to refrain from further provocative actions." read more...

Don't worry, kid, the UN and Barack are all over it. They promised there will be a "meeting."

Fox News-North Korea's defiant rocket launch next tests the U.N. Security Council, which quickly approved an emergency meeting Sunday afternoon to weigh possible ways of punishing the isolated communist nation.

Mexico's mission to the United Nations set the meeting for 3 p.m. EDT (1900 GMT), spokesman Marco Morales said. Mexico holds the 15-nation council's presidency this month.

That approval came after Japan submitted a formal letter requesting an emergency session of the United Nations council that handles threats to international peace and security. "We received a letter and there will be a meeting," Morales said. read more...
