Breitbart: UN Secretary General calls United States, "deadbeats."
Today, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, in a meeting with US lawmakers, called the United States a "deadbeat" donor to the world forum. The American taxpayer subsidizes almost 22% of the United Nations budget, but according to the AP, America is "perennially" late on its payments.
This is not the first time this issue has come up. According to Cato Policy Analysis No. 304, in January of 1998 the United Nations alleged the United States owed them $1.6 billion in unpaid dues.
Of course, what was tediously overlooked was from 1992-1998 the United States provided $11 billion in military assistance and other operations courtesy of the Clinton administration. None of which was credited to the US or reimbursed by the flagrant hypocrites at the UN.
It would behoove The Secretary-General to be less ignominious with the American people and get his house in order before waiving a finger of disapproval in their faces. He might just wake up one morning and find his organization evicted to Times Square and pan-handling to make up the difference. That just might be the shot of humility these "overrated diplomats" need.
